CheapFLIX Customer Types – Subscribers vs Members – Definitions

CheapFLIX maintains two customer types: Subscribers and Members:

Subscribers: Subscribers are customers that have a subscription to a DVD rental plan. Subscribers receive DVDs by mail in accordance with a CheapFLIX movie rental subscription program

Members: Members are customers that have a free community membership and are not entitled to receive DVDs by mail. CheapFLIX members can participate in all other features of cheapflix.com not related to DVD rental.

CheapFLIX Extends Free Movies Incentive Credit Program

We have had so much success with our “CheapFLIX Incentive Credit Program” that CheapFLIX.com has decided to extend the offer until September 30th.

The Incentive Credit program is for customers who have been abandoned by other online DVD rental services that have gone out of business. We introduced the program during our private beta in April 2009, and the results have been good for both customers and the company.

CheapFLIX Victim of Email Spoof – Phishing Attacks

There have been some emails circulating that are masking themselves as Cheapflix.com movie rentals. The emails have been coming from Turkey and Romania, and are asking you to update your cheapflix account with a link to a site that is not operated by cheapflix. These emails are phishing emails. Please do not reply to them. In fact, delete them immediately.

Cheapflix will never ask you to update your information through an email link. We only allow that through your user interface in your customer account information area.

Also, all emails from cheapflix.com will come from our mail server (mail.cheapflix.com), —NOT mail1, xmxmail, etc. ALL cheapflix email to members and subscribers is SIGNED with both domainkeys and dkim encryption. If it is not signed, it is not from CheapFLIX.com.

No reputable online service will ever ask you to update your account info from an email link. The bad guys can make it look like the site you are familiar with and then get all of your info. It is always best to go directly to the site and log in as usual. Therefore, if you need to update any account info including billing, please log in at www.cheapflix.com and go to your account page to update securely.

CheapFLIX Company Profile:

We began our private beta launch in late 2008, however, we are far from a newcomer to the world of renting DVDs. CheapFLIX is a subsidiary of Video Advantage, Inc., and we opened our first retail store in 1990. While celebrating 19 years of renting movies is cool, those 19 years would not have been possible if we had not begun renting movies online in 2003. While our first rental website, videoadvantage.net, was the original online subscription service in the state of Delaware, we also began a series of acquisitions designed to expand our customer service area on a national scale.

In 2007, we acquired DVDOvernight.com which provided movies by mail in a pay per rental fashion. Those customers became a part of videoadvantage.net, and we began servicing customers from coast to coast. In 2008, the voices of our customers continued to grow in their desire to have more than just a movie rental website—they wanted a rental community. A place where they could still rent, and add some of the other cool features from other popular websites. This began the challenging process of reinventing ourselves, and the development of CheapFLIX.com. While we aren’t YouTube, MySpace, Digg, or Netflix just yet, our goal is to create an entertaining website that will deliver a mix of these fun and interactive features under one umbrella.

CheapFLIX.com is an all in one fun entertainment experience. Rent movies online, watch movies for FREE instantly on your PC (limited selection), create a community member profile, blog about movies, and be a star in your movie review. You can also Digg movies and or reviews, and get a preview by watching our movie trailers.
